Project Overview
Jiangyou City in Sichuan Province is an important producer of commercial grain in China. However, pollutants from the Hanzeng landfill in Jiangyou City are contaminating surrounding farmland, where the soil contains excessive levels of the heavy metal cadmium. Since safety and sustainable development are important factors in agriculture, this not only poses health risks, but also endangers the livelihoods of local people. Sichuan Province needs an effective solution to prevent landfill seepage from polluting unprotected soil and groundwater.
